Queues are already starting to take shape at the four access entrances to Estádio Cidade de Coimbra for the first of four Coldplay concerts in Portugal, this Wednesday.
Since dawn, fans of the British band have arrived from various parts of the country to mark their place early.
A Renaissance spoke with four young people, by the way the first to be present in line at one of the entrances. The fans left Santarém during the early hours of the morning, arriving in Coimbra at 4:30 am, in order to “guarantee a good place on the pitch, with good visibility”, in what will be the “first concert of the band” that they will attend.
Between blankets, food and water, people wait patiently, seated, waiting for the doors to open, scheduled for 5 pm.
Coldplay return to Portugal 11 years after their last concert on Portuguese soil, at Estádio do Dragão, in 2012. This year, the British band will perform four shows at Estádio Cidade de Coimbra, on the 17th, 18th, 20th and 21st of May.
In total for the four concerts, 200,000 people are expected in the city. The doors open at 5 pm and the opening concert, by the Portuguese artist Bárbara Bandeira, will begin at 6:45 pm.
