HANNOVER MESSE knowledge platform

Two years of pandemic and war in Ukraine have been placing a constant strain on the global growth-oriented economy. Until now, globalization has been a guarantee of growing international prosperity, but already during the pandemic, borders have closed and supply chains have been interrupted. With the war in Ukraine, the energy crisis added. The exhibitors of the Hannover Messe will discuss the impact of politics, business and science.

With a total of more than 600 lectures and panel discussions, Hannover Messe is a unique knowledge platform. Businesses will present strategies and solutions on various stages to meet the challenges of the new era.

H’Up’s main stage will focus on sustainability, climate protection and green hydrogen. On the first day of the fair, energy experts from Bosch, Siemens and Nea Green will discuss the importance of green hydrogen as a strategic building block for energy diversification. The second day of the fair will be the focus of the 3rd Lightweighting Summit of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Protection (BMWK). Under the auspices of the Federal Minister for Economic Affairs Dr. Robert Habeck sets clear goals for climate protection, resource efficiency and resilience. Given the global political situation, these issues are more relevant than ever.

Technological solutions and topics such as the digital twin, the economy of B2B platforms, interoperability, additive manufacturing, predictive maintenance or cyber security will be presented on the Industry 4.0 stage in Hall 8. A new topic is Manufacturing-as-a-Service (MaaS), where the production of goods is offered as a service. MaaS enables new business models, but also increases the resilience, transparency, sustainability and flexibility of supply chains. These benefits are reflected in the automotive industry in the extensive Catena-X project. In it, MaaS is an important use case, which is based on the approach of the open architecture Smart Factory Web and examines and implements the environment of MaaS services.

On June 2, an international conference on MES will take place on the Industry 4.0 stage. It will address the question of how production can be made more sustainable and at the same time more economical. The conference will highlight the role that MES can play as a tool for Industry 4.0 and sustainability.

This year, special attention will be paid to the Energy 4.0 stage. It focuses on trends for an energy-smart, climate-friendly and sustainable future. Top experts will discuss how we can achieve energy transformation, more sustainable use of resources and radical reduction of CO2.
