An exhibition of 50 prominent authors in the field of architecture and design from the territory of Serbia, up to 50 years of age, will be opened in the LAG gallery in Belgrade, on October 12 at 8 p.m.
Due to the already known circumstances, architects and designers did not have the opportunity to exhibit their newer works for a long time. There were even fewer opportunities to meet, get to know each other and exchange experiences. For the first time after a short break, prominent authorities in these areas will be able to present their best projects and realizations to the professional and general public, all within one space.
Exhibition “50 to 50”
The Balkan Architectural Biennale (BAB) is coming to an end this year 10 years of its existence. The members of the association wanted to, together with their colleagues and associates, mark this important jubilee by presenting the domestic architectural and design scene at the exhibition, which is symbolically called “50 do 50„.
The goal of the exhibition is affirmation, presentation and promotion 50 domestic authors which belong to the new wave of creation, that is, they have up to 50 years.
He will present his reference works at the exhibition 40 architectural offices i 10 designers from Serbia who, with their authorial approach, significantly influenced the development of the local creative scene.

“Selected exhibitors were obliged to own active production in the last five years. In the case of architectural offices – to continuously design buildings and interiors. It required furniture designers to have serially produced pieces, which have been on sale for the last five years“- says Marko Stojanović, art historian and selector of the exhibition.
Architectural offices will be presented through posters measuring 70 × 100 cm and models of constructed buildings. Furniture manufacturers will present their prominent products – furniture and lighting.
The exhibition will be held on the premises LAG gallery, which is located within the shopping center Gallery Belgrade. The exhibition will be open until November 15, and its opening is scheduled for Tuesday, Oct. 12, at 8 p.m.. Marko Stojčić, the main urban planner of the city of Belgrade, will address the exhibitors and guests at the opening.

Overture for BAB 2021
The exhibition “50 to 50” is an overture for the main event – BAB 2021, which will be held in December. As many times before, at this year’s Balkan Architectural Biennale, almost all countries from the region will present their architectural and design activities in a similar way.
He is the curator of the exhibition architect Nebojsa Glisic, one of the founders of BAB. The guest country this year is Croatia, whose commissioner will be architect Sasa Begovic from the Zagreb studio 3LHD.
In addition to the main exhibition within this year’s BAB, a scientific conference will be organized, as well as two accompanying exhibitions: Brutalism in the Balkans i Contemporary stan in Belgrade.
