Slovak President Zuzana Čaputová supported Thursday’s Daffodil Day, the collection of the League Against Cancer. As she reminded on a social network, even small, symbolic help counts. She joined the collection directly during her visit to the Cancer Patient Assistance Center in Košice.
“Thanks to Daffodil Day, we have another opportunity to help cancer patients and their loved ones, to support Cancer League projects – relaxation and healing stays for the sick, wigs for patients who have lost their hair, or even education and prevention,” the president approached.
According to her, the narcissus on this day symbolizes the willingness to help, humanity, compassion, solidarity and, above all, a good heart.
After two years of pause caused by the pandemic, the League Against Cancer is organizing a public benefit collection Daffodil Day in the streets again. Volunteers have been raising funds to help cancer patients throughout Thursday. Around 40,000 of them are added to Slovakia every year.
