Euro NCAP announced that in the new series of tests, 15 out of 16 models received the maximum five stars, and the only four was unexpectedly earned by the DS 9. The agency estimates that such results show that car manufacturers have made progress despite the tightening of protocols a few years ago.

The DS 9 received one less star due to the behavior of the vehicle in a frontal collision moved to the side. It was estimated that the luxury French limousine is an “aggressive crash partner to other vehicles”. It received 79% for the protection of its passengers, 86% for the protection of children in the cabin, and 67% for the protection of other road users and safety assistance.

Despite more years on the market, Tesla’s Model S earns 94% for the protection of adults, 91 for the protection of children, 85% for the protection of other sensitive road users and an impressive 98% for safety assistance. The Chinese rival NIO ET7 received a slightly lower percentage score than the Model S, but it’s still five stars overall.

Sister models Toyota bZ4X and Subaru Soltera received the same results – 88% for the protection of adult passengers, 87% for the protection of children, 79% for the protection of vulnerable road users and 91% for safety assistance.

The new Hyundai Ioniq 6 also has high percentage scores in most categories, except for the protection of sensitive pupils in traffic, where it is 66%. The new electric Smart #1, although made in China, has surpassed European models in some categories. It protects its passengers in the event of a collision with an excellent 96%, children with 89%, sensitive road users with 71, and for safety systems it received a rating of 88%. The electric Nissan Ariya earned all five stars without any problems.

Among the new models with a hybrid drive, WEY Coffee 02, Honda Civic e:HEV, Toyota Corolla Cross, Renault Austral and Nissan X-Trail received five stars. Among the premium models, the Range Rover and Range Rover Sport received excellent marks.
