EU supported training program for SMEs from Adana Chamber of Commerce

A European Union (EU) supported training and support program for foreign entrepreneurs and SMEs was launched in Adana, which is among the driving forces of the country’s economy as an agriculture, trade and cultural center.

With the program to be implemented by SPARK in cooperation with Adana Chamber of Commerce (ATO), it is aimed to accelerate the commercial momentum in the region. The EU-supported program, which will support the growth of companies founded by foreign nationals in Adana by solving the problems they face, was recently started in Hatay, Şanlıurfa and Gaziantep.

THEY HAVE CREATED PERMANENT EMPLOYMENTS FOR APPROXIMATELY 1,500 PEOPLE IN 5 CITIES

SPARK Country Manager Halil Can Emre, who stated that they have created permanent employment for approximately 1,500 people with the programs they have carried out in Gaziantep, Kahramanmaraş, Urfa, Hatay and Mersin, together with their support to Syrian operators since 2017, evaluated the issue with the following words:

“We have now cooperated with the ATO within the scope of the INCLUSIVE (Creating Jobs by Providing Better Access to Finance for Syrians under Temporary Protection and Host Communities) project financed by the EU Delegation to Turkey. We signed a cooperation with ATO Chairman of the Board Atila Menevşe and ATO Assembly President İsmail Acı. With this agreement, we aim to both increase the chances of success of companies and contribute to the development of the regional economy by providing trainings on financial literacy, EU Green Deal, digital marketing e-commerce topics to foreign entrepreneurs and SMEs in Adana.”

LEGAL SUPPORT TO FOREIGN NATIONAL CITIZENS TO SET A BUSINESS

Emphasizing that they offer different services to entrepreneur candidates in addition to training programs and scholarship opportunities, Emre said, “We continue to add new services to our entrepreneurial candidates every day. Finally, we took our first steps to establish a “Foreigners Support Desk” within the scope of the ATO. At the desk, we will assist all foreign business people living in Adana with the bureaucratic procedures in the process of incorporating and registering their businesses. We aim to increase the acceleration of our activities and to increase the number of our participants even higher with the programs prepared by our expert trainers.”

MORE THOUSAND STUDENTS GIVE UNDERGRADUATE AND VOCATIONAL EDUCATION SCHOLARSHIPS

Emphasizing that they provide services for networking between entrepreneurs, increasing their professional connections through fair participation and facilitating access to financial tools such as the findeks note, Emre said, “Within the scope of our program, we have provided entrepreneurship training to 2,614 young people and business skills training to 2,066 of them so far. In this process, the number of people who participated in our young entrepreneur camp reached 564, and more than 400 Syrian business people benefited from our support to overcome business barriers for entrepreneurs and SMEs. Within the scope of our higher education program, we have given more than 5 thousand Turkish and Syrian students the opportunity to receive undergraduate and vocational education scholarships.”
