On Saturday, April 30, the Cits Bazars fair will take place in the Ditton shopping center with the participation of school educational enterprises representing various educational institutions of Daugavpils and Latgale.

In this unusual another bazaar more 30 educational enterprises, created by schoolchildren of Daugavpils, Augshdaugava region and Ludza. During Saturdays, at 10:00 to 14:00, on the 2nd floor of the shopping center, young entrepreneurs will offer their original products. These are souvenirs, clothes of a special design, various wood products, jewelry and accessories, educational games and toys, as well as healthy snacks, delicious chocolate and other diverse and interesting products.

A special jury will evaluate and award new school enterprises that are the best in 6 nominations: Socially responsible school enterprise, Technologically innovative product or service, Best sales team, Knowledge-based product/service, Environmentally friendly product/service, School enterprise with business potential.

The products and services created by schoolchildren will be evaluated by an experienced team of professionals, including representatives of the Latgale Planning Region, Daugavpils Business Incubator, Daugavpils University and many others.

A face-to-face fair for entrepreneurial students is organized after a two-year break, during which students get the opportunity to gain experience in presenting their product or service, in addressing potential buyers, thereby improving their sales and communication skills.

The School Learning Enterprise (SMU) program is a learning method specifically designed for students in grades 4-12. It gives students the opportunity to learn how to create and run their own business, create products and offer them to potential customers in the course of practical activities. The Latvian Ministry of Education and Science has recognized this teaching method and recommends it to educational institutions as a teaching method that develops and improves entrepreneurial skills.
