Engineer fired as Kushtia railway was not operational in 22 hours

Earlier on Friday at around 2 pm, five bogies of a freight train derailed near Bara station in Milpara area of ​​Kushtia city. Although no casualties were reported, the train line was twisted. Work is underway to remove the damaged engine and bogie and repair the line.

According to railway sources, the Gambojhai train with 22 bogies was going from Ishwardi to Faridpur. On the way, five bogies of the train derailed after crossing Kushtia big station. Due to this incident, rail communication between Kushtia, Khulna, Rajshahi, Goaland and Faridpur has been stopped.

Railway’s Pakshi sub-divisional engineer Bir Bal said four derailed bogies were removed after 12 hours of trying. Work is underway to remove another bogie. 160 workers are working continuously. The work is expected to be completed by Saturday afternoon.
