Empowering Young Talents, Ministry of Manpower Socializes Talent Corner in Surakarta

Muchtar Aziz said the Ministry of Manpower is committed to continuing to facilitate young talents through entrepreneurship development and increasing training in accordance with industry needs. With the empowerment of young talents, said Director General Budi, the youth unemployment rate can be suppressed.

As is known, currently the youth unemployment rate in Indonesia is still among the highest compared to other Southeast Asian countries such as the Philippines, Thailand, Vietnam, Singapore, and Malaysia.

Therefore, according to Muchtar Aziz, the development of young talents is carried out by identifying their interests and potential through increasing competence and skills according to needs.

“This happens because of the lack of relevance of the skills produced with the demand in the job market. So that the assessment through the Talent Corner is expected to suppress the mismatch,” said Muchtar Aziz.

On this occasion, Muchtar Aziz also appreciated the involvement of the Ministry of Manpower’s Talent Hub in the FGD and Talent Talks this time.

“Talent Hub is one of the employment information system platforms to support productivity improvements for young, creative talents,” he explained.

Meanwhile, the Head of BLK Surakarta, Teguh Difficultiyono, said that the results of the FGDs and Talent Talks would later be used as input in designing targeted Talent Corner programs. In addition, the FGD and Talent Talks were also to socialize the Talent Corner program which raised topics of future professions, entrepreneurship, and the creative industry from various perspectives.
