Emilewicz: I did not violate the governmental guidelines, my sons are members of ski clubs

TVN24.pl reported that the three sons of former Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz took part in the ski training camp as professional athletes.

I have in no way violated the government’s slope closure guidelines and ordinance; my sons train alpine skiing, have a ski license and have attended a training course in Susz to prepare them for the competition – said former Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz on Wednesday.

The tvn24.pl portal wrote on Wednesday that the three sons of former Deputy Prime Minister Jadwiga Emilewicz took part in the ski grouping like professional athletes, although they did not have the licenses entitling them to do so. According to the portal, the licenses appeared on the list of the Polish Ski Association only after journalists of tvn24.pl asked questions about them.

After publishing the website, Emilewicz issued a statement that she posted on social media. She emphasized that her sons from the age of 6 have been members of ski clubs and participate in training camps and competitions.

As Emilewicz writes, her eldest son from 2011 was a member of the Krakow Slalom Ski Club, later the Yeti club, and from 2014 her second son also rode in this club. After moving to Warsaw – we read in the statement – all sons became members of WTS Deska, where they continue to train alpine skiing.

Emilewicz emphasizes that all her sons have ski licenses. She also added that the boys participated in a training camp conducted by the Ptak-Team.Pl ski school in Sucha from January 2 to 6. “In Such, we lived with a family that we have been visiting for years. After her husband’s death 7 years ago, my aunt does not rent rooms. He only accepts his family, ”Emilewicz noted.

“My husband and I used to go ski-touring during our sons’ training – including in Susz and Mała Cich – beyond the boundary of the ski slopes marked by fences. We have not violated the slope closure regulation. I don’t know why my name – handwritten by someone, as opposed to the printed names of players, including my sons, was on the list. I did not train and I did not use the slope in any way “- assured the former deputy prime minister.

As she wrote, we all bear the costs of measures to reduce the spread of the coronavirus.

“I believe that the government’s decisions are right and I am fully submitting to them. With my actions, I do not disregard the appeals of the government, let alone government regulations. I would like to emphasize once again that my sons are training alpine skiing and were trained for the competition. As a parent and their guardian, I was there with them, but in no way violated the government’s guidelines, ”says Emilewicz.

According to the restrictions introduced in December, hotels are closed until January 17, and the activities of shopping malls and ski slopes are limited. In addition, restaurants and bars can only be operated for take-away orders. These and other restrictions were extended to January 31 on Monday.
