Emerce B2B Digital: innovating in the cleaning industry

The cleaning industry is a fairly traditional sector. When Kos Fourkiotis took office as Manager Innovation at CSU Cleaning Services, he was therefore faced with a challenge. The task: to increase value for customers and employees with technological and social innovations.

In 1968 Cor van der Heijden established his one-man business ‘Cleaning Service’ in Uden. He dreamed that it would grow into a company with 100 employees and a pleasant working atmosphere. The company soon specialized in asbestos, fire and soot cleaning.

CSU is now working with data, robotics, sensoring and VR, among other things, and the company is ahead of expectations in the market.

Together with Heijmans, Beyond Eyes developed. From measuring occupancy and cleaning based on sensors, the platform has grown into a digital facilitator for collaboration. It is a collection of services on one digital platform that facilitates chain collaboration within a building.

Traditionally, you contract different suppliers for all kinds of services. All these parties work within the same building in their own silo and optimize their own island. That will never be as optimal as when all those parties together, from their own service provision, look at what is best for the customer.

You can connect almost anything to the Beyond Eyes platform, including existing sensors. Think of smart soap dispensers or coffee machines, which give cleaning employees a signal to have them refilled.

Kos Fourkiotis shares during B2B Digital how to innovate in an organization with 27,000 employees, where the urgency for digital transformation is not high. Not only the digital, but also the cultural side of change is discussed. How do you deal with resistance and entice people to innovate together?

B2B Digital will be held on May 12 at InnStyle in Maarssen. You can find a complete overview of the speakers here† You can buy tickets via this link.
