The Croatian company Rimac Automobili presented a new hypermodel called Nevera, whose performance is at the level of rivals that are still in preparation, such as Tesla’s Roadster.
Nevera was developed from the C_Two concept and has four electric generators, which provide all-wheel drive, and the aforementioned 1914HP and 2360Nm of torque. The declared acceleration from 0-100km / h is 1.85 seconds, to 160km / h 4.3 seconds, and to 300km / h 9.3 seconds. Top speed is 415km / h.
The 120kWh battery provides an autonomy of 547km, and the 500kW charger charges from 0 to 80% of capacity in just 19 minutes.
Nevera is equipped with Brembo carbon-ceramic brakes with six-piston calipers and light forged aluminum wheels. The braking system works with brake energy recovery technology, and Rimac claims to have achieved the highest degree of regenerative braking utilization compared to any other car on the market.
The battery is also used as a structural element and adds 37% stiffness to Nevera’s carbon monocoque chassis. Rimac claims that this is the stiffest structure ever in any car.
The battery is placed very low, between two axles, so the weight ratio between the front and rear end is 48:52, which is favorable for agility and handling. The second-generation vector torque distribution system, which works instead of conventional grip and stability control, also helps here. The parameters are linked to seven driving modes – Sport, Drift, Comfort, range, Track and two personal modes, which allow the driver to combine favorite features and access them while driving. Depending on the selected mode, aerodynamics optimization is performed.
With the Track mode, an assistant described as artificial intelligence is activated, which helps the driver to improve his skill on the track.
Nevera is equipped with 12 ultrasonic sensors, 13 cameras, six radars and an NVIDIA Pegasus operating system that connects all components. The car analyzes the driving style and suggests changes in audio and visual cues. It is also supported by built-in telemetry. Rimac announced that the virtual assistant for the track will arrive as a software improvement in 2022.
The two-seater cockpit is equipped with three screens whose display can be configured by the driver. The interior is divided into two zones, and it is primarily for the driver to enjoy the ride and performance. The multimedia screen is located in the lower segment of the center console, as well as other controls.
Rimac also offers an extensive vehicle personalization program, so owners can customize the specifications to their liking. Customers can choose between GT, Signature and Timeless factory specifications or go via the Bespoke package, when all options are available.
Infidelity will be limited to 150 copies, will be produced in Croatia and will cost 2m euros. Each car will have a personal confirmation from the company’s founder and director Mateo Rimac.
