Elections completed peacefully in Satkania Daily Azadi

The Satkania municipal election was held peacefully. Voters have been queuing up in a festive atmosphere since Sunday (February 14th) morning to cast their votes for the candidate of their choice.
Earlier, BNP candidate Advocate AZM Moinul Haque Chowdhury Khokon withdrew his candidature and withdrew from the election. Awami League candidate Mohammad Jobay was elected unopposed as mayor.
As a result, elections have been held today only for the posts of general councilor and reserved women councilor. Although elections were held only for councilors and reserved women councilors, the security arrangements were eye-catching.
Due to tight security, the election was held in a fair and peaceful atmosphere without any untoward incidents. Voters also spontaneously appeared and stood in line to cast their votes.
“I have voted many times in my life but I have never seen such a beautiful environment before,” said Mabia Khatun, a 90-year-old woman, after casting her vote at the South Dhemsha Government Primary School.
Competing candidates also expressed satisfaction with the voting environment during the voting.
Mohammad Kamrul Hasan, Bandar Thana Election Officer in charge of Satkania, said there were two candidates for the post of mayor in this election. Among them, the BNP candidate withdrew his nomination and Awami League candidate Mohammad Jobay was elected mayor without contest. As a result, only general councilors and reserved women councilors have been elected today.
