BANJA LUKA – In accordance with the Law on Incentives in the Economy, a total of 8,035,997 KM was paid to economic entities in the Republic of Srpska in 2020 in the name of incentives for increasing workers’ salaries, the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of Srpska announced.
Funds for the first accounting period, July-December 2019, were approved for 450 business entities to which 3,178,487 KM were paid in the name of salary increase for 13,052 workers, it is stated in the announcement of the relevant ministry.
The Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship of the Republic of Srpska points out that the funds for the second accounting period in January-June 2020 were approved for 519 economic entities to which 4,857,510 KM were paid in the name of salary increase for 18,193 workers.
The right to incentive funds were given to companies and entrepreneurs who increased the salaries of employees in relation to the starting salary from March 2019, and meet the general and special conditions of the Law on Incentives in the Economy of Republika Srpska, the relevant ministry reminds.
The amendment to the law introduced the possibility that an economic entity can exercise the right to incentives for workers with whom it has established an employment relationship after March 2019.
The incentive was paid to economic entities in 40 municipalities of the Republic of Srpska, and the largest amount of incentives was paid to economic entities from the processing industry.
The implementation of this measure had a positive impact on the real sector of the economy in Republika Srpska, and among other things contributed to the growth of average wages and increase in the number of employees despite the negative impact on the entire economy during the coronavirus pandemic.
The funds provided by this law are in the budget of the Ministry of Economy and Entrepreneurship for 2021, and economic entities will be able to apply for an increase in workers’ salaries for the appropriate accounting period, the ministry said in a statement. Roe deer
