On Stara planina, on the site of a small hotel “StarA” which was built as a mountain lodge in the 80’s, and then in the 90’s for the needs of the company “Tigar” ad Pirot added and turned into a small hotel, the company “Slavninja 3 plus” doo, owner of the family couple Nina and Nikola Mirotic, will build a 4 * hotel with a capacity of 66 rooms and 5 suites.
The hotel building, which is planned in 4 phases, follows the access road, adapting to changes in height. It is segmented into smaller units in order to be more human and more reminiscent of a group of smaller objects. These segments draw inspiration from the patterns on the Pirot carpets, which are derived from the Serbian folk tradition, and which are from 2012. included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural assets of the Republic of Serbia.
The hotel contains a garage for 35 seats, a restaurant with a capacity of 120 seats with a spacious terrace, a meeting room, a spa center with an indoor pool and other facilities.
A sports hall and an open court will be built in the immediate vicinity, on the site of the existing open basketball court in the forest where the Yugoslav national team trained when it won the 1990 World Basketball Championship.
The hall contains a gym of 200m2 with a view of the field, stands with a capacity of 168 seats, locker rooms, toilets and other ancillary rooms. Similar to the hotel, hexagonal segments are formed on the facade, which are glazed but also additionally treated with wooden slats in order to shade and prevent direct light from entering the field. An open basketball court is planned next to the hall, which is accessed through the hall, which also unites stands with 168 seats. A plateau for parking with a capacity of 30 vehicles is planned in front of the hall.
Considering the current situation, the area of Stara Planina and Pirot, which has great potential, has been unfairly neglected. When creating the conceptual design of the hotel complex, one of the most important goals was to keep the hotel open all year round.
For that reason, many additional facilities such as a physiotherapy center for diagnosis and rehabilitation of sports injuries, an ambulance, ski and trim trails, open and closed gyms, with accompanying relaxation facilities, will undoubtedly attract great interest during the winter and summer seasons.
Sports camps for children, preparation of professional sports teams, team building, attractive tourist weekend packages, seminars, conferences – all in top conditions, comfort and rich natural environment will make this hotel a unique place and contribute to the development and positioning of this region on the regional tourist map.
