At first, no abnormalities were found in the operation of the brake, the car hid its fault, the test circuit was trouble-free. Standing in the workshop yard, the pedal came down, but it was not always possible to provoke. So the car stayed in the service shop for a thorough inspection, starting with a brake bench measurement.

The fluid level and the tightness of the system were checked first. Everything was found to be in order and then he was put on the brake bench, where he did well again, if he had just passed a technical exam, he will get his registration for two years in circulation. Since the work cylinders of the brakes were in good condition and working, there was no aeration, the ABS cube and the master cylinder were left to run for troubleshooting. Because the defects in the ABS cube are more diverse and the master cylinder is easier to test, the latter has been investigated. The master cylinder was clogged and bleed so that it did not lose pressure when the pedal was pressed. So the ABS cube might have come.

Filling with good quality brake oil is important

The specialist in charge of renovating the latter said that he thinks the master cylinder is more to blame, because when plugged in it is not in the range of motion where it should be, in Hungarian it cannot show the fault. But of course the cube can be the wrong one, it turns out by testing it. A decision was made to disassemble and inspect the ABS cube, which also included a cleaning. There was also a material-logical consideration in this, as this operation cost 22,000 forints, and at least its condition is revealed. If it is bad, the renovator will repair it on the spot, it is estimated that the amount is around 60,000 forints – in case of repair, you do not have to pay a separate inspection, because it is included in the price. If, on the other hand, it is good, it is a sure knowledge, the cube has also been cleaned, so it can be classified as a reliable part. If necessary, a replacement for the master cylinder can come, which is more expensive in itself than repairing the cube. Conversely, if, after replacing the master cylinder, it turns out that the ABS cube still develops a bad, double repair cost – the total amount is definitely better if you take the cube in advance.

The system was bled on all four wheels

According to the theory, the ABS cube got out of the car first and then came back a day later with it working perfectly and being cleaned. Thus, the circle on the master cylinder was narrowed and suspicion returned to it. Replacing it really solved the detected problem and also restored the missing braking effect. The more difficult error delineation was caused by the fact that the problem was caught in the beginning. Of course, during the brake repair, the car also received new brake fluid, and at the end of the work, the system was bled, which must be done after any disassembly of the brake hydraulics.
