Prague – The Czechia is experiencing unusually warm weather this week after recent frosts and heavy snowfall. Twenty stations today measured the highest February temperature so far, and 47 out of 154 stations measuring at least thirty years broke the current record for February 25. The hottest was in Byňov in the České Budějovice region, where they measured 20.1 degrees Celsius. In Ropice in the Frýdek-Místek region, the thermometer showed exactly twenty degrees, an employee of the Czech Hydrometeorological Institute (CHMI) told ČTK. It was more than 19 degrees on a number of stations.
However, where the low clouds or fog lasted, it was significantly colder. This concerned the Elbe, the lower Poohří and the Znojmo region, where temperatures did not exceed nine degrees Celsius. The coldest, as on Wednesday, was in Doksany in the Litoměřice region, where they measured only 3.9 degrees, meteorologists said.
Before the weekend, a cold front will arrive in the Czech Republic, it will cool noticeably, and therefore meteorologists do not expect temperature records in the coming days. On Friday, the maximum temperatures will be between 12 and 16 degrees, it will be colder in the northwest of the country and in areas where clouds will remain low. In the following days, the thermometer will show a maximum of five to nine degrees.

The almost spring weather in the Czech Republic also prevailed on Tuesday, when the maximum was 20 degrees Celsius in Vyšší Brod in the Český Krumlov region. The still unsurpassed maximum in February in the Czech Republic is 22 degrees Celsius, measured on February 27, 1994 in Český Krumlov.
