- Gasoline consumption by 6.9 percent, while
- diesel consumption was 8.3 percent lower in 2020 than a year earlier,
- thus, fuel consumption fell by an average of 7.8 percent last year compared to the previous year.
Total annual consumption was 3.61 billion liters; 1.38 billion liters of motor gasoline and 2.23 billion liters of diesel fuel were refueled in vehicles in Hungary based on the aggregate sales data of MÁSZ member companies.
Within fuels, sales of premium products increased.
- 314.6 million liters of premium motor gasoline were sold last year, 170.9 percent more than a year earlier. At the same time, nearly 1.07 billion liters of 95 motor gasoline was refueled by motorists, 22 percent less than the previous year.
- Consumption of premium diesel was 257.7 million liters in 2020, an increase of 15.9 percent from a year earlier. Sales of non-premium diesel were 1.97 billion gallons, down 10.8 percent from 2019.
