Do everything yourself for the game of throwing reels

Now is the right time to play in the yard. One of the simplest, and children’s favorite, is throwing reels. And it’s so easy to make props for this game. Try it!

On an interesting blog Momendeavors we found directions. Of course, you can always stick a few twigs into the ground and throw rings made of cardboard (just cover them with colored self-adhesive tape). But this is much more fun and lasting. You can even give the props to someone.

Here’s what you need for a reel throwing game:

throwing reelsFor wooden stand:

1 round piece of wood 50 cm in diameter

Larger drill for 2.5 cm hole (and drill)

4 round wooden bars 2.5 cm thick, equal in height and 1 by 3 cm higher

Paints for painting of your choice

For reels

Nylon rope (5 pieces of 30 cm)

Self-adhesive tape

Glue (optional)

Paint the plinth and rods. Allow to dry. Drill 5 holes in the stand, as shown. (The bars will easily fit into the holes, and after that you can just take them out and in that way it will be easier to pack the props for the game). Put the bars in the holes and make rings.

Connect the ends of the nylon rope (on all 5 pieces). Use glue and wrap everything with self-adhesive tape. You can include children in the making, and then organize a family competition. Let mom prepare a reward in the form of ice cream.

How do you spend your summer? What are your family summer games?
