Dmytro Tabachnyk received a new suspicion from the SBU — UNIAN

The former Minister of Education of Ukraine, Dmytro Tabachnyk, is in direct “communication” with Oleg Kozlov, a staff member of the 9th Directorate of the Department of Operational Information of the 5th Service of the FSB. It was reported SBU press center.

It is noted that after the start of the full-scale invasion, the traitor coordinated his subversive activities against Ukraine with a representative of the Russian special service. In particular, according to the investigation, he took an active part in the organization of pseudo-referendums in the occupied districts of Kherson and Zaporizhzhia regions.

At the same time, as informed by the SBU, Tabachnyk directly fulfilled Moscow’s task of “reformatting” the educational and medical sectors in the occupied territories to meet the needs of the aggressor country.

“It was under his coordination that the majority of educational institutions and hospitals in the region were converted into barracks of the occupation groups of the Russian Federation. The traitor carried out the corresponding “measures” together with the Gauleiter Saldo and Balitsky. In order to give Tabachnik “status”, last autumn he was appointed “advisor” to the head of the occupation administration in the temporarily captured part of the Zaporizhzhia region. Also, the person involved was included in the local branch of the Kremlin party “United Russia”, the report says.

In addition, the facts of the participant’s participation in looting the property of Melitopol residents have been established.

“Together with Murad Saidov – the so-called “watcher” from Kadyrov for the region, in April of last year they organized the export of agricultural machinery from the warehouses of a local agricultural holding to Crimea,” reports the SBU.

Based on the collected evidence, Tabachnyk was additionally notified of suspicion under two articles of the Criminal Code of Ukraine – Art. 111-2 (assistance to the aggressor state) and Art. 438 (violation of the laws and customs of war).

The case of Dmytro Tabachnyk

Dmytro Tabachnyk headed the Ministry of Education and Science of Ukraine during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych – from March 2010 to February 2014. After the Revolution of Dignity, he fled to Russia. As UNIAN reported, on July 7, 2015, the Security Service of Ukraine declared the former Minister of Education and Science Dmytro Tabachnyk wanted.

On March 19, 2021, the National Security and Defense Council applied sanctions against former high-ranking officials during the presidency of Viktor Yanukovych, in particular against Tabachnyk.

In November 2022, according to SBU materials, Tabachnyk was notified of suspicion under Part 2 of Art. 111 of the Criminal Code of Ukraine (treason committed under martial law).

On January 9, 2023, the Prosecutor General’s Office reported that the funds of the former Minister of Education and Science, Dmytro Tabachnyk, had been seized. As reported by the Security Service of Ukraine, the total amount of seized assets of Tabachnyk exceeds 2 million dollars.

On February 4, 2023, the President of Ukraine, Volodymyr Zelenskyi, revoked the citizenship of five former high-ranking officials of Viktor Yanukovych’s presidency, including the former Minister of Education, Dmytro Tabachnyk.
