Detroit. Police in the US city of Detroit have launched a manhunt for a suspect who is believed to have shot four random people on Sunday, three of whom were killed.

The first three victims – two women and a man – were found with multiple gunshot wounds in different parts of the city early Sunday morning.

A fourth person saw the male suspect looking into cars and told him to stop. The suspect then fired a shot at the person.

The shootings appear to be “very random.” This is what James White, the chief of the police in Detroit, says at a press conference.

– One was waiting for a bus, one was walking his dog, and one was just on the street, says James White.

The police have not disclosed which of the four shooting victims lost their lives.

In connection with the search, pictures of the suspected murderer have been published.

The shootings in Detroit were not the only ones in the United States over the weekend.

In Houston, Texas, three people were killed. The perpetrator had previously set fire to their homes.

“In a very sad and vicious manner, the suspect set fire to several residences, then waited for the residents to come out and fired at them,” says Houston Police Chief Troy Finner.

According to Finner, the firefighters who fought the fires also had to seek cover for the armed person.

The police then arrived and killed the man. He had recently been informed of imminent deportation by the United States.

According to the police chief, that may have been the cause of the shootings, but the investigation must try to clarify that.

There are regular mass shootings in the US, but lawmakers are reluctant to tighten gun laws.
