DESCO’s dividend announcement, profits have increased

Staff Reporter: Power and energy sector company Dhaka Electric Supply Company (DESCO) Limited will pay 10 percent dividend to the shareholders for the year ended June 30, 2021. At the same time the company’s profit has increased.

The decision to pay dividends came after the company’s board of directors met on Thursday to review and approve its audited financial statements for the year.

According to company sources, the company’s earnings per share in the last year has been 1 8 paise. Last year EPS was 1 taka 15 paise. Over the years, the company’s EPS has increased by 61 paise or about 72 percent.

The company’s cash flow per share in the year under review was Tk 14.72, up from Tk 11.10 in the previous year.

The company’s Annual General Meeting (AGM) and record date is set for November 15 through the digital platform.
