The total deposits of the banking sector increased by 33.3 billion liras in the week of July 9 to 4 trillion 18.5 billion liras.
Weekly Money and Bank Statistics have been published by the Central Bank of the Republic of Turkey (CBRT). Accordingly, total deposits in the banking sector (including between banks) increased by 33 billion 308 million 758 thousand liras in the week ending July 9 and reached 4 trillion 18 billion 487 million 121 thousand liras.
In this period, TL deposits in banks increased by 0.86 percent to 1 trillion 726 billion 802 million 93 thousand liras, and foreign currency (FX) deposits increased by 1.03 percent to 2 trillion 154 billion 697 million 140 thousand liras.
While the total FX deposits in banks were 255 billion 865 million dollars last week, 228 billion 229 million dollars of this amount was collected in the accounts of residents.
Looking at the change in the total FX deposits of domestic residents, an increase of 1 billion 724 million dollars was observed as of July 9, adjusted for the parity effect.
AMOUNT OF INSTALLMENT COMMERCIAL LOANS INCREASED
In the one-week period, consumer loans in deposit banks increased by 0.41 percent to 673 billion 99 million 126 thousand liras. In the same period, commercial loans with installments increased by 0.01 percent to 562 billion 105 million 320 thousand liras, and the balance of credit cards increased by 0.13 percent to 238 billion 156 million 918 thousand liras.
Of the consumer loans in deposit banks, 254 billion 159 million 976 thousand liras consisted of housing, 10 billion 181 million 115 thousand liras vehicle and 408 billion 758 million 35 thousand liras other loans.
The total loan volume of the banking sector, including the CBRT, increased by 6 billion 63 million 37 thousand liras in the week ending July 9 to 3 trillion 779 billion 82 million 926 thousand liras. Total loan volume increased by 18.99 percent compared to the same period of the previous year.
