The mandatory innovations – 13th generation Intel CPU and Ada GPU – affect the XPS 15, 17 and Desktop machines now.
Dell also doesn’t let its premium XPS products run on an outdated platform, so both the XPS 15 and XPS 17, as well as the latest versions of the XPS Desktop, already use Intel’s 13th generation processors and NVIDIA’s 4000 series GPUs.
The XPS 15 9530 is already the third generation of the 9500 family, which does not really bring anything new in terms of appearance, so we still get an aluminum unibody housing with a carbon fiber insert at the wrist rest. As a display, we can choose a 3.5K OLED with DisplayHDR 500, 400 nits luminance and 100% DCI-P3 color space, or a 1920×1200 pixel IPS panel with 100% sRGB. Inside, the top model can have a Core i9-13900H with 64 GB of DDR5-4800 memory and up to 8 TB of storage. On the graphics front, there is a serious choice: Arc A370M, GeForce RTX 4050, 4060 and 4070 can also be selected – in the case of the latter three, with a 40-watt TGP. Two TB4 and one USB 3.2 Gen 2 connectors are available.
The larger XPS 17 9730 has also been renewed only inside, the machine housing has remained the same. In the case of the display, we can choose between a 4K, 500 nits (94% DCI-P3, DisplayHDR+) and an IPS panel with 1920×1200 pixels. The CPU, RAM, and SSD options are the same as those available in the XPS 15, but for the GPU, in addition to the GeForce RTX 4050, 4060, and 4070 trio, the 4080 also appears on the palette. In all cases, we can count on 60-watt TGP settings. There are also four TB4 ports and an SD card reader on the machine housing.
Finally, we would like to mention the desktop computer called XPS Desktop, which is a restrained, gray or black aluminum/steel PC with enough performance for games. The top model can include a Core i9-13900K, GeForce RTX 4090, 64 GB of memory and 8 TB of storage. The interesting thing about the specifications is that NVIDIA 4000, 3000, 1650 and Radeon 6000 GPUs can also be selected.
