Delays reported by Hogwarts Legacy on Switch and Amnesia: The Bunker

The Hogwarts Express reports a delay. Hogwarts Legacy remains to be released on the last console – the Nintendo Switch. Avalanche Software is now adding almost four months to the already postponed July 25th release. It probably won’t surprise anyone that it’s a challenge to get a vast world on an outdated and underpowered handheld from Nintendo, which had technical snags even on current generation consoles.

But that was also claimed for the version for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One, which, again after delays, was released last week. And the skepticism of players and critics was perfectly dispelled, because according to all indications, the game not only runs smoothly but looks good too. So let Avalanche Software take the extra few months, because if there is ever a playable Hogwarts Legacy on Switch that won’t make your eyes water, it will be a small technological miracle. The new release date is November 14th.

The upcoming horror film Amnesia: The Bunker also reports an unpleasant delay. It will be delayed by only two weeks, but the essentially independent game could not have chosen a worse date this year. It will be released on the same day as Diablo IV, i.e. June 6.

The delay is all the more fortunate as Frictional Games only announced the May 23rd release date last week. But the developers ran into unexpected licensing problems that they have to solve before the release.

The demo version that is coming to Steam could alleviate the disappointment. At least for a while, you can visit the terrifying First World War bunker on May 22. Amnesia: The Bunker will be released on PC and both generations of PlayStation and Xbox consoles.
