A former Securitate officer, a local councilor in Timiș, acknowledged his quality in court and resigned.
Germina Nagâţ, a member of CNSAS, announces that this is the first case in which a Security officer summoned to court by CNSAS for human rights violations refuses to stand trial with the institution.
“You may not know it, but today is a holiday! I want to celebrate together, dear friends and unfriends, the first case in which a Security officer summoned to court by CNSAS for human rights violations refuses to judge us, and even gives us justice (>, as he says in the text below ) ”, Wrote Germina Nagâţ on her Facebook page.
The former Security officer is Sorin Bivolaru, from Timiş. He resigned as a local councilor, following the 2016 elections and from the People’s Movement Party (PMP).
“For the first time, a Security officer admits that he has violated human rights (because that means being> in the sense of the law) and does not fight in court, invoking in his defense regulations, military orders, saving the nation and planet Earth! That’s why I say we have a holiday! It is the first common-sense reaction from a former security uniform wearer and the first resignation from a public office, motivated in this way. I congratulate Mr. Bivolaru, and I can only wish the Romanian judiciary> trials with security guards completed in this way! ”, Says Nagâţ.
In the document sent to the Bucharest Court of Appeal, Bivolaru wrote: “I agree with the object of the action in finding and I agree with the admission of the action. I request you to ascertain the existence of the quality of Security worker of the undersigned (military counterintelligence officer in a military unit) ”.
