A few days before the start of the group phase in the Davis Cup, the streaming provider DAZN had secured the broadcasting rights to the most important team competition in men’s tennis for the German and Austrian market. Only: ServusTV has already done this before.

DAZN will broadcast the Davis Cup finals from November 22nd to 27th in Malaga, just like ServusTV on (German) free TV. It has not been announced for how long DAZN has secured the broadcasting rights.

No DAZN subscription required, Davis Cup also runs free on the internet and free TV

In contrast, ServusTV openly announced that it had secured the TV rights for free TV up to and including 2024. The private broadcaster also shows the matches free of charge on its in-house online platform ServusTV On. From this point of view, it is a bit surprising that DAZN even bothers to get involved in the transmissions. But so be it.

German team on Thursday without Zverev in action

Germany is playing the last quarter-finals of the Davis Cup finals against Canada on Thursday from 4 p.m. On the same day, starting at 10 a.m., Italy and Team USA will play against each other. Hosts Spain take on Croatia (4pm CET) on Wednesday, while Australia and the Netherlands open the tournament this Tuesday.

The winners will contest the semi-finals in the Davis Cup on Friday and Saturday, with the German team playing on Saturday should Canada be cleared out beforehand. The final then takes place on Sunday, November 27th, from 1 p.m.
