Numerous small and big holes along the whole road. 90 percent of the road has been tarred. Traffic is a long way off, it has become difficult to move even on foot. This picture is of Raipur-Asmania and Gauripur-Khoskandi (partial) road of Daudkandi upazila.
Besides, most of the internal roads of the upazila are in such condition. Due to this people of 15 unions of the upazila are constantly suffering.
It can be seen on the ground that people from 5 unions of Titas, Muradnagar and Homna upazilas use the Gauripur-Khoskandi and Raipur-Asmania roads of the upazila. The entire four-kilometer stretch of the road and the Gauripur-Khoskanandi road from Gauripur Bazar to Laxmipur, Chanderchar is backwards. Small and big holes have been created. Small and big vehicles are swinging over these holes. Thousands of students and parents of Laxmipur Madrasa on the side of the road are suffering immensely every day. On the other hand, the same condition has been seen on Raipur-Asmania road. The road has become unusable for the last 5/6 years. Many say there is no one to watch. The victims said that local farmers were suffering when the road was not repaired to market their produce. CNG driver Rabiul, Nur Alam, said it was difficult to travel 20 minutes in an hour due to the broken road. And as the back of the road rises, the dust and sand is increasing. So the traffic has decreased.
Irfan Mahmud and Anisur Rahman of Khalilabad village in Titas upazila wrote on social media on Facebook with a picture of a broken road. We the common people do not want any money from the MP-Minister, they just want to be able to walk on the roads in a beautiful way. I am appealing to the authorities to repair the road.
Mufti Solaiman, principal of Laxmipur Madrasa, said the road from Gauripur Bazar to Chanderchar via Madrasa was in such a delicate condition that it was difficult for small students to walk. I humbly request the concerned authorities of the government to make the people suffer by making reforms very soon.
Chairman of Elliotganj North Union Md. Jasim Uddin, who was traveling on the Raipur-Asmania road, said that the people were suffering due to the road not being repaired. Repeated requests to LGED for reform did not work.
In this regard, LGED’s Daudkandi Upazila Engineer SM Anwar said that a list has been prepared and sent to the ministry for repairing the broken roads. Which is in the process of being called for tenders.
