Daihatsu Terios Returns to Explore the Archipelago, this is the Mission

DAPURPACU – After being absent for the past two years, Daihatsu again held the ‘Terios 7 Wonders’ expedition program as well as testing the performance of Terios through exotic routes.

Like the previous expedition, the event was again packaged in the form of an adventure, this time with the title ‘New Capital Exploration’, in East Kalimantan, 19-21 January.

As an SUV model, the Terios’ toughness is tested again to bulldoze various road conditions in the area that is scheduled to become the capital city of Indonesia.

By covering a distance of more than 450 km for three days, the team will explore four areas in East Kalimantan, starting from Balikpapan, Penajam, Kutai and Samarinda.

There are also destinations divided into seven stages, including Sharpening Deer Captivity, National Capital (IKN) Nusantara, Bukit Bangkirai, Berambai Waterfall, Samarinda Weaving Village and Old House, Mahakam River Cruise, and Mangrove Center Balikpapan.

The main ‘mission’ of the expedition was to explore historical destinations, cultural sites of local wisdom, and explore the beauty of the archipelago in the region.

“The Terios 7 Wonders expedition is a proving ground to show the performance of the Terios in being taken on an adventure,” said Rudy Ardiman, Domestic Marketing Division Head of PT Astra Daihatsu Motor.

“This adventure also gives pride to the people of Indonesia through a variety of destinations and the charm of the beauty of the archipelago,” said Rudy.

For information, this year’s Terios 7 Wonders expedition is the 9th time it has been held, after previously being held in Sumatra in 2012, Java (2013), Kalimantan (2014), Flores (2015), Sulawesi (2016), North Maluku (2017) , South Maluku (2018), and Bengkulu, Pontianak, and Kolaka (2019).

Relying on the performance of the 2NR-VE type engine with a capacity of 1,500 cc, the Terios is also equipped with driving support features for the convenience of the driver and passengers while on the road.

One of them is Around View Monitor, a reverse camera that provides wide visibility with a 360-degree angle of view, so that the driver can more easily see the conditions around the car when maneuvering.

On safety features, it is also equipped with Anti Lock Brake System (ABS) and Electronic Brakeforce Distribution (EBD) in all variants, as well as Vehicle Stability Control (VSC) and Hill Start Assist (HSA) in the highest variant.

With a ground clearance of 220 mm, the Terios can pass through various road conditions, whether used for daily activities or on adventures. [dp/MTH]
