Cultural Marxist statue in Budapest was immediately destroyed

The cultural Marxist statue – a rainbow-colored goddess of freedom making the black power sign with her fist – was erected late last week in Ferenc Square in Budapest’s ninth district.

The work was created by the artist P├ęter Szalay, who wanted to draw attention to the BLM movement, “racism” and “prejudice against LGBTQ people”.

The plan was for the statue to stand for two weeks. But already the first day it was first cordoned off, then vandalized with paint and finally smashed by right-wing activists.

Members of the organization Legion Hungary then took on the deed. They describe the statue as an “anti-European, anti-Semitic, anti-sexual and anti-Christian symbol”.

Media profile Zsolt Bayer, who co-founded the governing party Fidesz and is close to Prime Minister Viktor Orban, had predicted that the statue would be destroyed immediately after it was erected.
