Russian scientists say they have evidence that spicy essential oils reduce the risk of cancer and rejuvenate the body.
Experiments conducted at the Institute of Biochemical Physics of the Russian Academy of Sciences have confirmed that the essential oil of the spice chubar affects the character of oxidative stress, it was published on the Internet site izvestia.ru.
According to one of the most widespread hypotheses, which was presented twenty years ago in that very institute, the active aging of the organism is contributed by active oxygen atoms that break down the cell structure.
These atoms are opposed by antioxidants of both synthetic and natural origin, and the latter include various spices.

Proving this hypothesis, the scientists watered the laboratory mice with water with the addition of savory essential oil and forced them to breathe the air saturated with oil vapors.
It has been shown that, as a result of three-month experiments, the concentration of polyunsaturated fatty acids (famous omega acids) in the brain and liver of these animals significantly increased and the structural characteristics of erythrocytes improved, which means that mice are less likely to develop cancer and live much longer.

It is almost certain that the results of these experiments will be repeated in experiments on humans, and therefore it is already recommended to include savory in the daily menu, especially since this medicinal plant does not need to be imported from distant lands because it grows in our region.
