In several European countries, including in Slovenia, criminal investigations in the field of crimes of organized crime are underway, the General Police Administration (GPU) confirmed for STA.

More information about the investigation will be revealed by the GPU in the coming days. The Croatian news agency Hina reports that these are groups that allegedly smuggle drugs into Western Europe.

In Croatia, the operation is taking place in Zagreb and several counties, and several people are expected to be arrested for smuggling more than 100 kilograms of cocaine and heroin, as well as more than 100 kilograms of hashish, as well as military firearms and explosives. Some of the suspects are also said to be charged with the murders of protected witnesses and high-ranking police officials.

The Prosecutor’s Office of Bosnia and Herzegovina informed Hina that the arrests and investigations were carried out in cooperation with Europol and law enforcement authorities from Croatia, Slovenia, Germany, the Netherlands, Belgium and other European Union countries.
