Authorities issued a new newsletter on Friday, April 15, on the evolution of the coronavirus pandemic in Romania, in the last 24 hours.

In the last 24 hours, 1,255 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (COVID – 19) were registered, 222 less than the previous day. 154 of the new 24-hour cases were from re-infected patients, who tested positive for more than 90 days after the first infection.

One day ago, on Thursday, April 14, 1,477 new cases and 12 deaths were registered.

13 deaths

Between 14.04.2022 (10:00) and 15.04.2022 (10:00), 13 deaths (6 men and 7 women) were reported by INSP, 1 before the reference interval.

Of the 13 deaths, 1 was recorded in the 40-49 age group, 3 in the 60-69 age group, 2 in the 70-79 age group and 7 in the over 80 age category. .

All deaths were from patients with comorbidities.

Out of a total of 13 patients who died, 11 were unvaccinated and 2 were vaccinated. 1 of the vaccinated patients who died was 60-69 years old and 1 was over 80 years old.

In the health units, the number of people hospitalized in wards with COVID-19 is 1,771 with 57 less than the previous day.

Also, 246 people are hospitalized at ATI, 5 less than the previous day. From

of the 246 patients admitted to ATI, 214 are unvaccinated.

Out of the total number of hospitalized patients, 94 are minors, all being hospitalized in wards, 11 more than the previous day. No minor is hospitalized at ATI.
