Covid-19. Marcelo promulgates a reduction in the use of masks

The President of the Republic promulgated this Thursday the Government diploma that reduces the mandatory use of masks in the context of the covid-19 pandemic.

Marcelo Rebelo de Sousa announced on his official page that he “enacted the Government diploma, received this afternoon, which amends Decree-Law No. exceptional and temporary measures within the scope of the COVID-19 disease pandemic, in particular reducing the mandatory use of masks”.

The diploma was presented today by the Minister of Health, Marta Temido, who said that the conditions for the use of the mask are no longer mandatory, with the exception of places frequented by “especially vulnerable people”.

“The conditions are met for the non-compulsory use of masks, which remains in places frequented by especially vulnerable people”, such as homes and structures of the National Network of Integrated Continuing Care, said the minister at the end of the Council of Ministers.
