Angola totaled 970 deaths associated with covid-19, registered 155 new positive cases and recovered 67 people in the last 24 hours, announced today the national directorate of Public Health.

The epidemiological bulletin from that period reports a single death registered in the province of Cuando-Cubango, with 155 new cases registered in the provinces of Lunda Norte (71), Luanda (24), Moxico (21), Cunene (20), Huambo (12), Lunda Sul (03), Benguela (02) and Cabinda and Malanje with one case each.

Luanda province, the Angolan capital, recorded, in the last 24 hours, the highest number of recovered patients, with 32, followed by Cunene province with 20, Cuando-Cubango with 10, Zaire with three and Huambo with two recoveries.

According to Angolan authorities, the laboratories processed 2,537 samples by RT-PCR. The cumulative points to 781,133 processed samples with a positivity rate of 5.3%.

At least 118 patients are hospitalized and 125 people are being monitored in institutional quarantine.

Angola, which has been experiencing public calamity for over a year, totals 41,061 positive cases of covid-19, 5,234 active, 34,857 recovered and 970 deaths.
