Corsair makes fan management easier with smart hub

To facilitate and speed up the work of installing fans and cooling solutions in computers, Corsair introduces a smart system called Icue Link. The system offers a central hub where fans and other cooling are plugged in with a proprietary connector to in turn give users a better overview and more control over cooling.

In total, the hub can supply and control up to 14 different fans and other devices. The hub can control fans and lights individually or run fully synchronized cooling. Despite the same name, it doesn’t look compatible with older Icue-branded equipment out of the box, but it should arrive with an adapter to connect older gadgets.

The system makes it easy to reduce the number of unnecessary cables in the computer.

The system introduces the new fans QX120 and QX140 RGB, which are among the first in the world to be able to be controlled completely digitally. To reduce the number of cables from fans, a modular solution for chain connection (eng. daisy chain) and the kit is in turn connected with a cable to the hub. Furthermore, the fans have been equipped with sensors that measure temperature, which can also be registered with the same hub.

The Corsair Icue Link ecosystem goes on sale next month, and in the third quarter more fans and cooling solutions that can be connected to the system will be launched.
