“Corruption without a policy in the literal sense”

Satyendra Kumar Sarkar, Additional Secretary, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts, said, “Although there is no clear definition of corruption in the Anti-Corruption Act, I think it is literally unprincipled corruption. There is a penal code to prevent corruption which is under the jurisdiction of the Anti-Corruption Commission. ”

Today, Sunday (November 21) morning, a day-long workshop on anti-corruption was organized by the Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts in the meeting room of the District Council (Annex Building) in Rangamati.

Additional Secretary (Administration) Satyendra Kumar Sarkar presided over the function, which was conducted by Abu Rafa Mohammad Arif, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts.

He said, “Today’s workshop is mainly about prevention of corruption. You know, we’re on our way to becoming a middle-income country. So we all need to have good practice in the office-court. ”

“The rate of corruption can be greatly reduced through the use of technology,” he said. Sometimes there is corruption in the misuse of technology. It is not possible to prevent corruption with the law. So we need self-purification which should start from our family. Parents as well as teachers have a role to play in the family. We need to change our perspective. Educational institutions also need to change their perspective. If we see corruption in our office, we have to find a way to prevent it. ”

He further said, “Honorable Prime Minister has increased the salaries of government employees so that we can run smoothly and prosperously. Again, government employees need not worry about the future. Even after retiring from the job, they can continue to be polite with the pension. Then why would there be corruption in our government department. The office has to take some action. You have to be good first. Make the service easier. Reward those who are doing well. ”

Rangamati Hill District Council Chief Executive Officer. Ashraful Islam, Deputy Secretary, Ministry of Chittagong Hill Tracts, Udayan Dewan, members of the council, officials of the transferred department and beneficiaries of various projects of the council were present.
