CORONAVIRUS Romania. 1,872 new cases in 24 hours. 964 patients remain hospitalized at the ATI


Authorities said 1,872 new cases of coronavirus had been reported in the past 24 hours. Also, the number of deaths is 41. 964 patients are currently hospitalized in ATI wards.

Since the beginning of the pandemic, in Romania, 761,963 cases of people infected with the new coronavirus (COVID – 19) have been confirmed.

708,151 patients were declared cured.

1,872 new cases and 41 deaths

Following the tests performed at national level, compared to the last report, 1,872 new cases of people infected with SARS – CoV – 2 were registered, GCS transmitted, in the daily report.

To date, 19,366 people diagnosed with SARS – CoV – 2 infection have died.

Between 13.02.2021 (10.00) – 14.02.2021 (10.00) were reported 41 deaths (21 men and 20 women), of some patients infected with the new coronavirus, hospitalized in Arad, Arges, Bacau, Botosani, Braila, Cluj, Constanta, Dambovita, Maramures, Olt, Prahova, Satu Mare, Sibiu, Timis, Ilfov and Bucharest.

Of these, 1 death was registered in the age category 30-39 years, 2 deaths in the age category 40-49 years, 5 deaths in the age category 50-59 years, 12 deaths in the age category 60-69 years, 13 deaths in the age group 70-79 years and 8 deaths in the category over 80 years.

All deaths were from patients with comorbidities.

964 patients in ATI

In the profile health units, the total number of people hospitalized with COVID-19 is 6,952. Of these, 964 are hospitalized at ATI.

To date, 5,719,598 RT-PCR tests and 202,447 rapid antigen tests have been processed nationwide. In the last 24 hours, 11,822 RT-PCR tests were performed (6,455 based on the case definition and medical protocol and 5,367 on request) and 2,798 rapid antigen tests.

On the Romanian territory, 39,318 people confirmed with infection with the new coronavirus are in isolation at home, and 10,038 people are in institutionalized isolation. Also, 60,450 people are in quarantine at home, and in institutionalized quarantine there are 153 people.

Over 6,100 fines

In the last 24 hours, 1,456 calls were registered to the unique emergency number 112.

As a result of the violation of the provisions of Law no. 55/2020 on some measures to prevent and combat the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic, the police and gendarmes applied, on February 13, 6,176 sanctions contraventional, amounting to 1,108,050 lei.


Also, through the competent structures of the Police, 2 criminal files were drawn up yesterday for the futility of combating diseases, the deed provided and punished by art. 352 Penal Code.

We remind the citizens that the Ministry of Internal Affairs has operationalized, starting with 04.07.2020, a TELVERDE line (0800800165) where violations of the sanitary protection norms can be notified.
The calls are taken over by a dispatcher, in an integrated system, and distributed to the territorial structures for the verification of the notified aspects.

Romanians abroad

Regarding the situation of Romanian citizens in other states, 8,578 Romanian citizens were confirmed as infected with SARS – CoV – 2 (coronavirus): 2,271 in Italy, 2,158 in Spain, 193 in Great Britain, 125 in France, 3,116 in Germany, 93 in Greece, 49 in Denmark, 37 in Hungary, 28 in the Netherlands, 2 in Namibia, 4 in the USA, 7 in Sweden, 137 in Austria, 22 in Belgium, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 43 in Switzerland , 3 in Turkey, 2 in Iceland, 2 in Belarus, 2 in Bulgaria, 12 in Cyprus, 2 in India, 2 in Ukraine, 8 in United Arab Emirates, 13 in Moldova, 3 in Montenegro, 218 in Ireland, 2 in Singapore and one each in Argentina, Tunisia, Luxembourg, Malta, Brazil, Kazakhstan, Republic of Congo,

Qatar, Vatican, Portugal, Egypt, Pakistan, Iran, Slovenia, Russian Federation and Croatia. Of the Romanian citizens confirmed with the new coronavirus infection, 798 were declared cured: 677 in Germany, 90 in Greece, 18 in France, 6 in Japan, 2 in Indonesia, 2 in Namibia, one in Luxembourg, one in Tunisia and one in Argentine.

The highest number of new cases was reported in Romania on November 18, 2020. Then the health authorities transmitted 10,269 infections.

And the highest number of deaths at 24 hours was reported on December 8: 213.

Coronavirus in lume

More than 2.4 million people have died from the coronavirus pandemic worldwide to date.

Most deaths occurred in the United States (over 496,000). In second place is Brazil (over 238,000), and in third place is Mexico (173,000), according to data centralized on woldmeters.info.
