Construction of the Belgrade-Nish high-speed railway begins

Delegation Of the European Union in Serbia, it issued a preliminary notice on announcing a tender for the reconstruction of the existing and construction of a new track on the section Stalac-Junis, on the Belgrade-Nish railway. As stated in the notice, Ministry of Finance of Serbiae requested from European Investment Bank to provide funding railway project Belgrade-Nish. He ordered the work Serbian railway infrastructure.

The job will be divided into two parties, the first of which involves the construction of a tunnel (number 4) and the second the reconstruction and modernization of the existing railway and the construction of the second track on the section Stalac – Dunis in the municipality of Cicevac, with the construction of 4 more tunnels through the gorge.

Total length of tunnel no. 4 is 3,275m, and the first party of the contract envisages the preparation of project documentation, tunneling and construction of a new single-pipe two-track rail tunnel on 182 + 325.00 km of the Belgrade-Nish railway. The scope of works includes all necessary tunnel and construction works, but not electrification, signaling and telecommunications that are part of the second batch.

The second party includes project and construction activities for the reconstruction and modernization of the existing railway and the construction of the second track of the Belgrade – Nis railway, section Stalac – Junis. By the way, this section is the only one-track section on the Belgrade-Nish railway, and the plan is to of the 22km single-track line, 17.77 km will be converted to a double-track.

This work, as stated, includes the preparation of project documentation, reconstruction of the exit track and construction of another track for the maximum projected speed of 160 km / h, as well as construction of four tunnels (nos. 1, 2, 3 and 5). The scope of work in the second batch, it is added, includes all necessary tunnel and construction works, as well as electrification, signaling and telecommunications.

Predicted the tender announcement date is July 5 this year.
