At the beginning of the match, the teams were tied 8-8, but after that, the game of the Hungarian national team prevailed. Kiss Virágés were resolute in both defense and attack, they constantly moved away from their rivals and quickly increased the difference to over ten points, and then they kept ten of their advantage until the first intermission.

At the beginning of the second quarter, the Slovenians kept pace with the Hungarians, but in the second half of the period, Norbert Székely’s team’s defense became tighter again, they barely allowed a point to the host and built up a nearly twenty-point lead by halftime (28-47).

After the long break, the Slovenian team gave the Hungarians a bit of a scare, as they halved the difference in lightning speed, but after the Hungarian captain’s timeout, the national team organized their lines and made their lead comfortable again until the end of the quarter (50-67). In the last ten minutes, there was nothing to be excited about, the Hungarian team played basketball very confidently and won easily.

It’s hard to summarize what we saw, because the match looked good, as we managed to win against the host team with so many points – evaluated Székely on the website of the Hungarian association.
