Coffee imports in 2020 will decrease by 800 tons

SARAJEVO – Last year, BiH imported 21.08 million kilograms of coffee, which, according to the data of catering associations, was enough for more than 2.5 billion cups. However, the pandemic greatly affected the consumption of one of the most popular drinks among the population, writes Instore.ba.

Catering facilities were closed for most of last year, which significantly reduced coffee consumption. Last year, BiH reduced the import of this drink by as much as 800 tons.

According to the data of the Indirect Taxation Authority (ITA) of BiH, 77.6 million KM of roasted or raw coffee was imported into the country last year, which is 10 million KM less than in 2019.

Most of the coffee for the preparation of the most popular drinks in Bosnian bars comes from Brazil, followed by Italy, India and Vietnam. It is interesting that one kilogram of coffee is enough for 120 cups. Indikator.ba
