Check out the amazing rainforest demo created in Unreal Engine 5

Hell of a showcase of what UE5 can do. Also the perfect tool to test the hell out of your machine’s performance.

We’ve already seen a few tech demos, and UE5 has shown every time that it’s a damn powerful tool. In my careful browsing of youtube I discovered a person who is involved in creation in UE5 and makes his work available for download. I couldn’t resist and tried a walk through the almost photorealistic forest. I also found that my machine has full circuits of work to get it moving at all. I picked out a couple of images at 2560×1440 resolution along with statistics from MSI Afterburner. As you can see, the images are not exactly sky high.

High (High) details tighten the RTX 2080 to about 50 frames, higher (Highest) already drop to 25, and finally Ultra details send the graphics completely to its knees. 10-15 FPS is really not much. However, I definitely recommend downloading the demo and enjoying it, especially with how the clouds are chasing us outside in the last few days, there is a sleet every now and then, and the hot rainy forest behind the hummocks is a utopia. The link to download the demo is in the description of the video from the author, direct link here.
