ChatGPT available on smartphone. What does this imply ?

OpenAI notably promises to provide “accurate information without having to deal with ads or multiple results“, which is the current standard for search engines.

Note that as soon as the application is opened, a warning indicates that ChatGPT can “provide inaccurate information about people, places or facts“.

Microsoft, the main investor in OpenAI, has integrated the advanced language model on which ChatGPT is based with Bing, its search engine, and Google has launched Bard in 180 countries, a pilot version with generative AI.

This rapid adoption of ChatGPT and other generative AI software (computer code, image, sound, video) raises deep concerns in many areas.

Teachers find that their students entrust their essay writing to the chatbot in order to cheat. Additionally, many administrative and creative jobs are at risk, and policymakers fear that this technology could facilitate the spread of increasingly sophisticated misinformation. Moreover, legal proceedings have been initiated for intellectual property issues.
