The CES is one of the most important trade fairs in the field of entertainment electronics. After last year the presentations could only take place virtually due to the ongoing corona pandemic, the operators for CES 2022 enforced that this year visitors are again allowed in the halls in Las Vegas (USA).

CES 2002 – Who will be there?

However, the CES 2022 had to cope with the first restrictions in the past few days. Numerous larger companies from various industries have canceled their participation in the electronics fair. There is a lack of leading companies such as AMD, Intel, Nvidia or IBM and Lenovo in the field of hardware manufacturers. Corporations such as Amazon, Google, Microsoft or Meta as the parent company of Facebook are not included this year.

Despite the cancellations, the CES is sticking to the fact that the fair will take place in 2022. New models and technologies should be officially presented here, especially for televisions, as well-known brands such as Sony, Samsung and LG have announced themselves here. For example, new QD OLED screens are expected here, as well as the so-called OLED EX panel from LG, which is supposed to set new standards for OLED televisions. The current HDMI standard 2.1 is also being updated to HDMI 2.1a, which mainly focuses on a better HDR experience.

Experience has shown that only fewer new smartphones and tablets will be presented at CES 2022. The focus here is more on the improvements in the individual components on which future models should rely. In addition to new chipsets from Intel and AMD, it is mainly smaller companies in this segment that want to impress with numerous gadgets for smart homes, electric cars and more.
