CES 2022: EVGA presented quite an interesting mouse

The 8 kHz rookie is packed with technology, but thankfully it still doesn’t exceed the 75-gram weight limit.

EVGA mice may not have been so exciting so far, but the U.S.-based company is now expanding its portfolio with a model that may interest many people, with its noble simplicity To X12 called solution is symmetrical, but there are also two buttons on the right side.

The 123mm long, 70mm wide and 41mm high, eight-button rodent has a PixArt PMW 3389 sensor scaled up to 16,000 cpi at 400 ips and scaled up to 16,000 cpi (spiced with five-profile internal memory), and under its main clicks Omron switches that are very optimistically authenticated to “60 million” clicks. An addition to the story is that the resolution can be set on both the X and Y axes.

Another unusual feature of the 75 gram press is that its LoD can be adjusted between 0.4 and 3 mm, and this is achieved by using a secondary sensor that only calculates the lift height. Of course, we can’t say that the PMW 3389 doesn’t need anything like that, and there’s been an example of such an implementation before (and it’s understandably not very successful), but since the crowd hasn’t been very upset about it, we can’t really be angry.

The X12’s third piquant is that it supports the NVIDIA Reflex Analyzer and the 8000 Hz USB refresh rate, although there are quite a few criteria to meet to actually benefit from the latter. The PTFE pads are complemented by a 2-meter-long para-cable, and addressable three-zone lighting has crept into the formula, in the form of a company logo on the caster, palm rest, and three strips of light stationed on either side of the rat.

The software background is the EVGA Unleash RGB application, which not only allows us to control the flicker of the LEDs, but also to control all other settings (such as button programming, macros, sensor features, etc.). The purchase price of the product, which is made in black and white, has not been announced yet, but knowing the brand, it is likely that we will not be groping in the dark for long.
