TCL has been working on Mini LED backlight technology for years, as a result of which their first such product was sent to stores last year. Developments did not stop there, as it was now announced, for example, that they had reached a level in this field, and thanks to that, the OD Zero – Mini LED backlight was born.
According to the information received from the manufacturer, this process produces higher brightness and even richer colors. In addition, OD Zero represents the optical distance between the Mini-LED backlight layer and the LCD display layer, which has now been reduced to 0 mm, resulting in an ultra-thin, high-performance backlight module. The advantage of this solution is that the contrast is improved and the halo phenomenon is minimized. Thanks to the information received from TCL through the thousands of individually controlled LED groups, the reproduction of HDR content will also be more spectacular and accurate.
Unfortunately, it is not yet known when and at what price the first TCL OD Zero TVs will arrive.
