By Sandra Xavier on May 10, 2023

Carlota Varela Cid was promoted to director of communication and marketing at CBRE. The professional has been with the real estate consultancy since 2019, having recently joined the advisory committee, a management body created by the company to be more representative in defining the global strategy and decision-making.

Before that, in 2015, she was at Klépierre as marketing director and in 2010 she moved to communication and marketing at Hansgrohe, a luxury building materials brand, where she had the opportunity to develop B2B and B2C work. Along the way, she also worked for companies such as Novo Banco and ERES Relocation.

Carlota Varela Cid has a degree in Sociology from UTL and an Executive Master’s in Sales & Trade Marketing from IPAM.

In CBRE’s support areas, there were two more promotions to the position of director, namely Catarina Coutinho, in the people area, and Susana Castela Graça in the legal department. The consultancy has just carried out a restructuring of the management bodies, with the constitution of an advisory committee and a shadow board, both bodies with rotating mandates.

“It is very important to have a broader representation in the definition of our business strategy, so this new model will certainly be a successful bet. Additionally, not only through the constitution of these new bodies but also through the promotions we list, we intend to value our talent and offer a perspective of career development to our people”, says Francisco Horta e Costa, managing director of CBRE.
