Kuala Lumpur: The mother of three children, Nuranis Rosni Daud was originally not a cat lover but ‘fell in love’ with the animal after keeping the animal in 2013.
The affection for the cat caused Nuranis, 46, to take care of the animal like his own child.
Not only feeding and shelter but also a daily routine of Nuranis wearing clothes for her pet cat and the story got the attention of citizens recently after the woman uploaded a video on TikTok.
Telling further, Nuranis who lives in Taman Mutiara Kulim, Kedah said, at first he had six cats but one of them named Leo died in 2016 due to a viral infection in the mouth.
“Now, there are only five cats left in his pet, namely Yuteh Gemok (Yuteh) Gabu Gedut (Gabu), Omel Gedik (Omel), Mozza Damee Betto and Alexx Tommy Tiger (Tiger).
“I had no desire to take care of the cat at first but the child asked to find it because he was bored at home.
“Coincidentally, there is an Indonesian colleague at the factory who wants to return to his country of origin and leave Leo to me on the recommendation of the factory supervisor,” he said when contacted by Harian Metro.
Nuranis said, after Leo, he took care of Yuteh who was dumped in front of his neighbor’s house near Taman Daya, Johor Bahru, Johor before taking four more cats in stages after moving to Kulim, Kedah in 2015.
“All my cats except Omel were taken when they were small and were originally not as healthy as they are now. The worst was Tiger because when taken, his gums were purulent due to being punctured by bones as well as ears and eyes.
“His body was also scabbed and his hair was pulled out a lot until his skin and bones were visible at that time. At first I was not sure Tiger would survive but continued to keep him healthy and now Tiger is very active,” he said.
Nuranis, who is also a shop owner selling cat care and necessities, said her daily routine is to get up as early as 5 am to prepare food before feeding her pet.
He said, after bathing and performing the Subuh prayer, he will give vitamins to all his cats for skin, fur and internal health care.
“It’s all over, I just went to the store and usually, Tiger and Omel will be brought along because both are easier to take care of,” he said.
According to him, the hobby of keeping a cat is like a therapy that not only gives satisfaction but makes his soul calm.
He said the cat also strengthened its relationship with the child and husband, Yusri Yusuf, 46, because they both take care and manage the animal.
“For some reason, I feel calm every time I am at home with a cat and I get tired of working when I see it.
“Supposedly, the cat entertained me because there was something that made me laugh and I just let the pet cat roam in the house only occasionally to take him for a walk on the field on holidays.
“So far, I have over 30 collections of special clothes for all pet cats to wear when out walking or in the cold season.
“Alhamdulillah, my children love cats and husbands who used to dislike them also started to love them,” she said.
Nuranis is grateful because his livelihood has not been cut off since raising cats and did not even expect to open a shop selling cat food, jewelry and medicine in April 2019.
