Thakurgaon Sadar police station officer-in-charge (OC) Kamal Hossain has filed a case in the district judge’s court for allegedly handcuffing and blindfolding the organizing secretary of the district Jubo League, Asaduzzaman Pulak.
District and Sessions Judge Mamunur Rashid after hearing the case filed on Wednesday in the name of five people including the OC ordered a judicial investigation headed by the District Magistrate. He also ordered Pulak’s medical report to be submitted within 24 hours and the district police superintendent to file a departmental case.
Lawyer and plaintiff Asaduzzaman Pulak is satisfied with the order to investigate the case. Pulak said, I filed the case because I had faith in the court. Happy with the court’s verdict, hope to get justice.

Abdur Rahim said that when Asaduzzaman Pulak filed a case in the district judge’s court, the district and session judge took the case into consideration after hearing the case and ordered the judicial investigation to be conducted by the district magistrate and ordered to submit a report on Pulak’s treatment within 24 hours. He also ordered the District Superintendent of Police to file a departmental case.
It should be noted that the police arrested Rocky and Asaduzzaman Pulak on the charge that there was trouble in the Baisakhi fair held at the city’s public club ground on the night of April 29. Later police took them to the police station and tortured them. When Pulak fell ill late at night, he was treated at Thakurgaon General Hospital and sent to Jail. Later on May 2, after getting bail through the court, Pulak was again admitted to the General Hospital for treatment by his family. Pulak was released after treatment at the 250-bed Thakurgaon General Hospital on Wednesday.
