Carpenter killed in truck accident in Madaripur

A carpenter named Abhay Biswas (45) was killed in a truck accident at Rajoir in Madaripur. The accident took place at Tatikandi Bridge No. 1 on the Tekerhat-Kabirajpur regional road of the upazila around 1pm on Wednesday.

The deceased was identified as Kalikest Biswas of Goyal Bathan village under Haridasadi-Mahendradi union of Abhay upazila. He used to work as a carpenter in Bikrampur of the capital.

According to eyewitnesses, Abhay came home from Bikrampur 10 days before 10 a.m. to cast his vote in the fourth phase of UP elections. In the morning go shopping at Tekerhat market. Later, on his way home at 1 pm, he fell from the autovan on the way. He died on the spot after being crushed by the rear wheel of a truck coming from Kalamridha.

In this regard, Rajoir Police Station OC Sheikh Sadiq said, ‘The accident happened while he was going home with the market. We have police at the scene.
